After more than a year of ownership, I find the XXII is my favorite daily wear watch in my collection

I can see that the XXII doesn't get a lot of love on this site but garners some respect. It certainly has a different look from the classic Breguet but similar to the much loved XX and XXI; after it is a sport watch.
I have had mine for more than a year (my AD needed 5-6 months to re-stock it)! And that's part of the reason I like it so much. Unlike the Oversea and Royal Oak I looked at, I don't see this watch on other wrists. I appreciate the uniqueness of the watch and the 10mhz escapement. It's accuracy is awesome! It's not a scratch magnet like some of the others it competes with. I have both the black leather band and the steel band and switch them when the mood strikes.
You do learn how to read it after a while. The stopwatch function was very helpful during my rehab from a knee replacement. My eyesight seems to be declining as I get older and i find the time very easy to read at a quick glance. I appreciate the dual time zone feature too.
Yes, it is a large watch so my larger wrist helps it look appropriate. And it looks very classy and can be worn for almost any occasion. It has been in a rotation with half of my collection (Breguet Marine, IWC Portuguese, Rolex Daytona and a rare piece, the Vacheron Salterello). I like the way the XXII feels and looks on my wrist, so much so that I don't feel the desire to change to another watch as much as I want to put the XXII back on my wrist after wearing my other watches,
What more can I say? I love this watch!!
If anybody has any questions about what it i like living with the watch just ask.
I also love the look and feel of the thinner gold Breguets too and plan to sell my Marine and put the proceeds towards one of more "classic" Breguets. I will keep the XXII!!
My feeling is that the quality of the Brueguets are right up there with the bigger names but isn't always placed in that category by those who really don't understand what Breguet is about or get hung up on what happened to Breguet during the 70's and 80's. The fact is that the Breguet and others are all good watches. Which one you select is a matter of personal taste. And I find the XXII "delicious"!

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me with a question I have about what seem to be different versions of this watch I have seen with the same reference number. Most versions I see look like this: A few I've seen, however, have an additional window above the ...

I think I may have answered my own question. According to a blog to watch, the watch in my first picture was the prototype introduced by Breguet at SIHH in 2010. Breguet apparently didn't offer it for sale until 2012 and, by then, had made the changes see...

it is my understanding that Breguet had some troubles with perfecting the movement. It is really quite impressive s 72vph movement. 1/20th of a second. the closest large scale production watch is the el primero. looks like the original prototype had a 60 ...

You are in fact correct

Breguet made the change between the time of showing the prototype at Basel and starting production. If you have an iPad, there is a free app in the App Store; search under Breguet. You can download for free the issues of the Breguet magazine "Le Quai de l...

Hi popspin, I'm also a long time owner and admirer of the XXII aka 3880 Breguet Transatlantique and wonder why there are almost no mentions of this 10 Hz watch here in our forum? I own also a Breguet Marine Chrono and some other brands - all of them are m...
