Horological Meandering: Winding the watch

Glad you like the watch. The reasons you described are pretty much in sync with my views on it. As for the winding, it feels quite smooth. I'd say it is comparable to the two manual wind Reversos that I have. It's not as smooth as my Rolex Prince (which is the smoothest winding manual winding watch

Horological Meandering: Not sure about the bluing process...

The screws might be heat-blued or chemically blued with bluing only thing I can say is that the slots of the screws are blue too, so there was no nickel coating anywhere on the screws at the time of bluing.

Horological Meandering: Eterna Madison: Quite a rare bird

Just received my latest watch today. While it was not a Black Friday purchase, the price was still very attractive. And the watch is quite interesting: An Eterna Madison Sperodrive, a tonneau-shaped time only (hours, minutes and central seconds) manual wind watch with a rectangular shaped manufactur

Rolex: In defense of the Prince

Having owned the rose gold Prince for a few years now, I have to admit that it's a rather unusual dress watch due to its shape. However I have to say that it wears quite comfortably, which is most likely due to the curved shape of the case. And the little step at the side of the case lets it slip un

Vacheron Constantin: Thx for the explanation

I didn't read that post. To be honest, I was drawn to this post due to the picture of the Patrimony Traditionelle, not because of the vintage piece. So with respect to your question which one I'd add to my collection, it would be the modern piece.

Vacheron Constantin: What is going on with the radial flip here?

This is the weirdest case of radial flip that I have ever seen. The upper numbers (10, 12 and 2) are pointing with their lower end to the center of the watch, and with the upper end towards the bezel. For consistency's sake I would expect the lower numbers (4, 6 and 8) to be consistent among themsel

Rolex: Really like the Cellinis, but...

I hope they won't be too successful. Just like the recent Prince models, these new Cellinis have a wonderful combination of being high quality, rare, very carefully designed, and just a little bit quirky to keep them interesting over many years. And if they prove to be as unpopular as the Prince mod

Ulysse Nardin: Looks great... Anyone know the MSRP for the steel version?

Great watch, useful complications, inhouse movement and good size. Love the design, in particular with black dial. Does anyone know the MSRP? This might be the first UN that makes it on my wish list.

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Some further pics and comments

JLC has always been one of the watch makers I liked best, and in my collection of around 30 watches, it has the biggest share with 5 pieces (Reverso Duoface, Master Ultra Thin, Master Geographic, Master Hometime, and now the Reverso Memory). The Reverso Duoface was the first good watch I owned, and
