Two of the best vacherons but which one to buy for 7 inch wrist?

Hi kkchome

First of all Beautiful vacherons. The polish job looks really well done.

I always thought the 37mm looked too small( although never got to try one in my wrist) but I am surprised the 42042 does look that small compared to the 40mm 49140 , What is the exact diametre of the 42042  & 49140 (including the crown) in your picture,  is it a 38mm & 40mm respectively? . I have a 6.8 - 7 inch wrist size and 38mm watches looks perfect on my wrist but i think a chronograph like 49140 if its 41mm(with crown) might look a bit big.

I am searching for a good overseas 42042 chronometre to buy but very confused as there are different sizes & calibres  , do you know if theres a 40mm (including crown) overseas 42042 chronometre out there.

I have checked ebay and chrono24 for 42042 (£3-£4k approx) , Could you advise best place to buy authentic vacheron chronometre 42042 from and how to check authencity , & which is the best calibre VC in the 42042.

Sorry for all these questions you don't have to answer them all, just a bit worried as this is my first time buying pre owned watches from the internet, and was reading some where that  there quite a few replicas of overseas 42042 sold throughout the web.

any response would be appreciated my email:

Thanks

Reunited! 42042 Back from the Spa

It's nice to have the Overseas Chronometer back from a service and reunited with the 49140. I am extremely fond of the Overseas Chronometer and actually prefer it to the Chronograph....

I can feel your joy from here!

A very nice pair of VC Overseas you have. Congrats and thanks for sharing. I have heard VC's spa is top notch so I am sure your watch is back as good as new. Cheers Robin

Not quite good as new...

I was concerned about the case/bracelet losing their shape, so I specified a light polish only. I am very pleased, but the deep scratches on the bracelet are still there. The service was expensive, but worth it because I really love the watch. [/UR...

Nice to see

Forgive my late reply, as I do love the Gen I series very much. Your choice for a light polish was well considered. Hopefully you won't feel reluctant to wear them for all occasions, befitting their sporting nature.

I wear them often

I wear both of them quite often, although for swimming I usually go with my old trusty submariner 14060M (which is my 'beater' watch).

It's nice to get them back.....

I too found myself wearing the Chronometer more that the Chronograph when I had both in the collection at the same time. Bill
