Have others noticed that the spacing between the "n" of Vacheron, the "&" and the "C" of Constantin is not symmetrical on the older pieces ? It seems the "&" is typically noticeably closer to the "n" than to the "C", which is also a handy way to determine...

I don't know if the spacing can be a general rule, as it often depends on the different dial makers of those times. For example, when I see the "&" in some of the older pieces from this collage, the spacing before and in front of the "&" of all of...

It is of course not a "rule" as such but it is something I've seen with surprising regularity on pieces from this period (late 40's, early 50's), at least on the wristwatches. It's also rather amusing that Vacheron allowed this sort of sloppiness but then...
