Alternative, no, complement...Yes.

I'm so much in love with my Anniversary that I don't see myself selling it to go on the VC CR.
BUT, to complement, or compliment, my Lange...
YES!
Like you, I love its understated look, almost peaceful, without being boring.
A great watch!
Best, Bill.

The Vacheron Constantin Chronomètre Royal
By: amanico : December 8th, 2009-08:30
Some of us have been invited by Vacheron Constantin France for a dinner, and our Alex made us a very nice surprise, as he brought with him some nice watches from the current production, and from the Past. From the Past, a superb collection of Chronomètre ...
Beauticul pictures, Nicolas....

the last photo of the VC next to the Lange is great. Though both are three-hand watches I really prefer the more relaxed look of the VC, mainly due to the use of center seconds rather than sub-seconds. Bill

in love with the maltese cross rotor, and the platinium

Chronometre Royal. Interesting to note Hour markers on the Lange railroad: add something to the dial, IMO. Thanks for sharing these beauties; You have worked until midnight for the Purist forum.....LOL - cheers, Patrickh
And a bit more, Patrickh!
By: amanico : December 8th, 2009-11:41
I would have preferred a manual movement inside the CR, but I would be happy with this watch. The funny thing is that there are common and very different details on the Lange and on the VC. The vision of the automatic movement is not the same, with a 3/4 ...

what are the MRSP of the two versions? (by PM if you do not want to post) Thanks Cheers
Another love at first sight, my friend?
By: amanico : December 8th, 2009-13:23
The platinum is 40 000 Swiss Francs, but you have to add the VAT. I believe the RG is around 30 000 Euros, VAT included. Best, Nicolas
Yes.....
By: MiniCooper : December 8th, 2009-13:42
but I had told you that two weeks ago...... Unfortunately this has to wait as there is something else on my list.... Cheers
Thanks for sharing, Nicolas

Beautiful pictures and very nice watches

Especially the Chromometre Royal in Platinum version, I saw the Rosegold version at my AD but not the platinum one. Thank you! Best regards. Baxter
The red 12!
By: ling5hk : December 8th, 2009-21:40
NIcolas, I have seen the LE of Chronometre Royal with red 12. I find it a subtle and harmonious decoration on the enamel dial. Without a doubt, it is a beauty. Regards Ling
Thanks Nico!

I love the write ups in your posts throughout all the forums. I'd love to see the pictures you put here and elsewhere, but unfortunately I can't access imageshack photos from behind the Great Firewall of China :-(. Best Regards, Dan
Alex, I like the look of the platinum but agree
By: jglydon : December 9th, 2009-03:14
if the hands were blue it would give it better clarity and perhaps more warmth. I also wonder if the outer railroad track were replaced by cabochans if that would add more depth to the dial??? John
Check please!

That bloody platinum chrono royale with enamel dial is another one to die for. I would wish for 2 alterations to this watch, swap the crown for something less curvy and make it a solid case back (am I crazy) ... or better yet a manual wind, like you hinte...
Aaah, Richard
By: amanico : December 9th, 2009-14:03
I would die for a manual movement on this CR! As for the crown, my opinion is that it is perfect for this elegant watch, and its curved shaped contributes to this, IMO. But a Manual movement, and a Red 12, and I jump on it! Let's wait and see what JLC wil...
Wow some very unusual watches...
By: Dino944 : December 9th, 2009-18:22
I've never seen the CR in Platinum. While I usually prefer rose gold, thats a watch I really like in Platinum, although as others suggested the hands might add a bit more life or color to it if they were blued steel. I absolutetly love the Malte Chrono fo...

When I saw it once again in the flesh, maybe for the 10th time, I was saying to myself that all black, this dial would have been a pure marvel, something which would make me go on it! With this red ring for the second indexes, I had the feeling to see a L...
Thanks Nicolas!
By: Mostel : December 9th, 2009-18:25
I love that Platinum Royal! It just needs 'something' to break up the black and silver.... yet I still find it very very fine in pics. If I were spending real money on it, I think the lack of any color or 'break' in the monochromatic aspect... would be a ...
Funny, Mostel.
By: amanico : December 9th, 2009-22:25
I'm more disturbed by the Auto movement than on the almost monochromatic dial... But not disturbed enough to pass on it... A Red 12 would be the cherry on the cake, although... Best, Nicolas
I also agree....
By: MiniCooper : December 9th, 2009-22:34
I think it would have been better if it was a manual movement.... But maybe Vc will make one as we do have both manual & automatic patrimony models... Cheers
I asked, PP

And I've been tld that it wasn't in the tube... Best, Nicolas
Maybe....
By: MiniCooper : December 10th, 2009-11:54
there will be one if VC sees that there is enough interest..... Cheers
I hope that......
By: MiniCooper : December 10th, 2009-12:15
is not true.... Watch manufacturers should listen to the market and collectors..... don't you agree?? Cheers
I wonder my friend......
By: MiniCooper : December 10th, 2009-12:28
which Patrimony sells the most... the manual or the automatic? Cheers This message has been edited by PinkPanther on 2009-12-10 12:29:09
Red is always a GO!
By: Ares501 - Mr Green : December 9th, 2009-23:52
Yes the red 12 would be perfect IMO... For some subliminal reason I'm always attracted by the red marks on dial like Rolex single or double red inscriptions Thank you for sharing another pieces to dream of Best Damian
I'm in the same situation, Damian
By: amanico : December 9th, 2009-23:54
Would like to see what would be the aesthetical outcome of a Red 12 on this dial... May someone do a small photoshop work? Best, my friend. Nicolas
Thanks for the share, Nicolas

I am going to a VC dinner tonight and I hope to see some of these there as well. But I must admit at the moment I am blinded by the American 1921 (which has the manual movement!). When the 1921 is in the room, I see no other. My plan is to wear something ...
I think.....
By: MiniCooper : December 10th, 2009-12:13
that it is time to start saving so you can buy the 1921 my friend.... Cheers
LOL...

I will try not to.... Cheers This message has been edited by PinkPanther on 2009-12-10 12:27:14
You are right....
By: MiniCooper : December 10th, 2009-12:34
I will not... but what are friends for anyway??? Cheers
I still saw it tonight, Respo.
By: amanico : December 10th, 2009-12:13
I mean the 1921... A superb watch, very pleasant to wear. One of my very few favourite in RG. Let us know, my friend! Best, Nicolas
In the case of the 1921, I agree with you, Respo.
By: amanico : December 10th, 2009-13:16
I didn't just see it this night, I also tried it, and I fell under the charm... If VC decided to make it in platinum, it would really be difficult to not resist, but as it is, in RG, it is already a evileque watch! Best, 666.

I wonder if the extra weight of platinum would be problematic for the correct operation of the automatic winding system. It would certainly be problematic for the affordability of the watch! Bill
The skeleton perpetual is impressive
By: dxboon : December 15th, 2009-01:00
It's my favorite piece of those that you present in your post. The platinum Chronometre Royal is lovely, if a bit icy for my taste. I admire its pristine beauty despite the overall chilly aesthetic it exhibits. The movement displays some much needed warmt...
Agreed on the perpetual skeleton, Daos.

I'm more and more impressed by these special pieces from VC. My absolute greatest shock was when I saw the Minute Repeater skeleton, in platinum: It was a real REVELATION, to me. As for the VC Chronomètre Royal, I love a lot this cold understated loo...

the design of the face, the center seconds. But very sad it's 1. not a remontage manuel, and 2. Even if it was no.1, it's size is that 1mm away from my elusive border.... Just guess that VC still continues to elude me, time and time again! Now , where is ...
