Part 6: Metiers d'Art "La Symbolique des Laques" Maki-e
Vacheron is very well-known for its ability to mix artistic approach with horological contents through the Metiers d'Art collection.
This year, Vacheron uses a more quiet and peaceful thema than the Masques Collection which was very original in its decorations and its time display.
The famous Maki-e house of Zohiko collaborates with Vacheron to decorate the dial and the back of these 3 watches.
They will be sold in a set and only 20 sets will be available. I regret that it won't be possible to buy a single watch. Because if I understood the coherence of the sets for the Masques Collection (each mask represents a continent and 4 different materials were used), here making them available one by one wouldn't have changed a lot the spirit of the collection. Anyway, I was seduced by these delicate watches.
The thema is "Longitivity", each watch has a representation of a tree on the front (bamboo, plum tree, pine tree) with a bird while the bird (sparrow, nightingale, crane) is also on the back.
Caliber used is the 1003.
One watch has a WG case and the two other ones have PG cases.
I was totally seduced by their beauty and the feeling of harmony they bring.
