it did happen in the 70's and 80's with some models. Be sure to have Vacheron Constantin confirm that the case and movement serial numbers match their archives before purchasing. Bill

Thanks Bill for your fast answer! I also don´t see casebacks with engraved case number most time. If you google "vacheron 222 ricardo" you will find a watch i saw this (engraved number on caseback). This is not a watch i am / was interested in - it is sol... 

the 222 ran from the late 521xxx to 522xxx, a total of 500 watches - which matches the number at the bottom of the case in that photo. So it looks plausible to me.

is there the number usually engraved on the case bottom from 222 jumbo in steel - anyone else can confirm this? regards Stephan

Hello in mine there is only the usual, stylised 222 at the back. Same in other five of which I have pictures. BWs Franco

NO, they are just not there.

the 222 i had a personal look also has the number on the bottom on the caseback. It was a steel version with anthrazit dial. Owner is a german collector (i also saw his AP RO 5402, PP Nautilus..........) regards Stephan

now it is saterday evening, but 9 months later !!! for different reasons there was no possibility to come closer to a deal for the vacheron 222. But now it is fact, that in a few days i will be owner off a 222 with dial colour black/anthrazit and also for...

the jumbo and i hunted it one year and for me only the black/anthrazith dial verdion was the real deal. Next problem was, that i like to see what i by directly by myself. Until yesterday evening i organized the restpayment money, because i couldn't wait u...

Normally I would beg for movement pictures, but the 222 case is a bit tricky to open. Will you have it serviced? FWIW, don't be alarmed by the rotor noise - it has a very distinct sound.

i don't open a watch - specially this construction with the cartridge, wich i screwed by the bezel - for to take pictures or to proove the movement. I think this 2121 can't be changed against another movement in this watch. Everything works as it should a...
