Vacheron Constantin at Watches and Wonders 2014 Part II

Oct 04, 2014,07:38 AM

As requested by Henry, here are other pics we saw during our VC Hour Club presentation, hosted by our dear friend (and Hour Club Don!) Mr Alex Ghotbi.

I am very sorry for the poor pics quality. There were several reasons - firstly my Canon decided to play punk that morning and I kept seeing purple streaks and lines on the display and it was very hard to focus... secondly for some of the super watches, we only had a few mins to photograph them and they were so impressive I was nervous :P

Anyway, some pics here and sharings.

The piece unique Maitre Cabinotier Astronomica!! It was already sold and we could only see it for a few mins! No trying as it was all wrapped for the lucky owner! <img src=">

I couldn't take a good shot of the back sorry!

We were also very lucky that morning that Mr Juan-Carlos Torres stepped into our room to meet us for awhile and he was wearing this!

The beautiful back of the 1731 - I hope Alex returned this watch to Mr Torres for he was so eyeing it!

Some beautiful pieces for the ladies were also featured in W&W 2014. Amongst our group of collector friends, 2 of them have spouses who buy the VCs!
VC is wise to offer something for the ladies definitely! I also feel RG is perfect especially for Asian ladies with our skin tone and love for a bit of bling. Well done VC on these pieces. They are not the super watches but they are important to make our other halves happy!

Finally, kpk PMed me about this. This is the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve in RG, aka the China edition. I understand it will be sold exclusively in China first. I think it will be very popular as some of us Chinese do prefer the warmth of RG than Platinum for more warmth.

Hope you enjoyed these posts on VC in W&W 2014. I will do one last short post on our Hour Club dinner soon smile

Cheers

It happened to me several times also not to have the right camera at the right moment and the result is what it is: great watches for which obviously the pics do not render justice. Of course it is a pity and you will surely be punished for that (LOL) but...

Thank you Mike! :)

For SIHH 2015 as 2015 is their 260th anniversary ! VC has always been at the top of haute horology (along with some other esteemed brands) :) Next year will be more exciting ! Thanks for your kind words Ovi. :) Cheers Robin

Hi Robin, great report and photos. An excellent effort.

I like some pieces more than others, but overall, a great effort by VC. I love the slate grey dials of the Patrimony, but the white date window on the automatic. I like the Traditionelle day date pr in RG but have to see it in the flesh. Love the Astronom...

I believe it is only for the China market for a limited time

Then it will be available worldwide.

Thank you my friend

Yep I heard the same as what Dan said. The Chinese editions will be available first in the Chinese market and subsequently for other markets too Cheers Robin

Any reason for this? Because this is a very universal

model in terms of VC design, and will be quite popular worldwide.

I guess China has always been special to VC since ancient days :)

And they want their clients there to get these first ? Makes sense as rose gold is very popular in Asia. But glad the rest of the world will eventually get these pieces too. We have more time to save up then Kunal ! :p Cheers Robin

Many thanks!

There were some impressive complications on display at that dinner. Still, I think my favorites are the new rose gold pieces with slate dials. Bill

Agree Bill

The simple dress watches are what VC does best! VC is also famous for grand complications. It's the middle tier of watches I feel VC needs to work on a bit with more choices for customers Thanks Bill and hope you like the report Cheers Robin
