Corporate Policy
As the other responses have inferred, there is a corporate policy prohibiting VC Boutiques from discounting. On the other hand, they will have several times the inventory of any AD. There are, however, quite a few ADs in NYC, so you might get lucky.
As far as 47th Street, if you find a new VC in one of the shops, it probably isn't really new, and the last time I looked, most of them had few if any modern VCs. You may find some vintage VC's in shops that specialize in vintage pieces, but they will generally be small (30-33mm) time only watches, and you have to be careful about any restoration work that was done.
Shopping in New York
I will be in New York next week and plan to visit the Vacheron Boutique. Does anyone know if they will they work on price, or are you likely to get a better price at an AD? Also, does anyone have recommendations for watch dealers on 47th Street that offer...

1. Boutiques in general do not discount. AD MAY discount, but can't be sure. But, AD is on 54th, and the boutique is around 60th, so you can find by yourself. 2. 47th st. is full of grey dealers or used watch dealers. I suggest anyone who wants to help do...
The boutique will probably have the best selection.....

Thanks! I love the blue as well and was really torn between them. In the end, I just had to pull the trigger and pick one. Having seen all three colors in person now, I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the dials on this beautiful watch.

I'd be very wary to buy on 47th street. I'd probably buy a watch at auction before 47th street. And boy, have I had problems with the auction houses. Congratulations on the new watch. Very glad that you were able to get the watch you wanted at an AD inste...

Not sure I agree that the boutique always has better inventory... My favorite dealer on 47th street has a very healthy inventory with much much depth of watches that the VC boutique.
