Patek Philippe 5110J.

There is no bad 5110. We all have our favorites, and everybody is right with his choice.

As much as I prefer the P for this incredible two tone dial, the J doesn't lack charm. The subtle hue of gold, with this white dial, is really eye catching.

Best,

Nicolas

J for the win...

...plus great contrast with the hands/dial, something many Patek world timers lack...

I agree with your assessment of J

Perfection

I agree, each metal has their own character

there is no wrong choice but one thing common…I would consider this reference as the best WT from PP ever. No modern references have been better than this !

The case shape of the 5110 and 5130 has something magic and timeless about it

For me it has been the 5130 due to the hands and the size

But I like the 5110 equally

I understand.

As we've discussed before, this was the watch I wanted to buy in 2002 but couldn't afford it (but never forgot it). Years later I was able to acquire my 5230R as a sort of "homage," but there's something special in the 5110J that still pulls at my heart s...

I very much like that this one

Has light color in the center of the dial.

It is a milestone.

A classic beauty.

It’s really timeless. I was offered this watch with a Tiffany stamp a number of year ago. I didn’t appreciate it so much. Now I regret it.

Agreed 👍

5110 J FOR ME

 By: vicunaman1 : May 2nd, 2024-11:40
THE J WORKED(S) BEST FOR ME. MY CUFFLINKS WERE MOSTLY YELLOW. STILL, AND A PLEASURE TO WEAR ALWAYS,IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL WITH A SWEATER, JEANS AND SNEAKERS....... IMO, A MASTERPIECE IN J, R, G & P.

I like the J more than the G owned in my family!

P, J, R, G is the order for me for the 5110 family. For the 5130, I like P, R, J, and G. This 5110J is a beautiful example - I would proudly wear this! I wonder if there's a casual strap style that would lend itself well to this watch. And maybe a casual ...

Poor G indeed!

A lot of underused beauties in my family. More unused beauties than used ones! Very sad indeed!

I wanted the P, but my mother wanted the G.

 By: patrick_y : May 3rd, 2024-12:41
She wanted to have the flexibility to accessorize different colored straps with the G - which would've been limited with the P. So it was more of an aesthetic choice - and it was more importantly her choice. In the end, I don't think she used the watch. N...

Why not both?

 By: amanico : May 13th, 2024-16:15

Good question...

 By: patrick_y : May 14th, 2024-02:05
Now I regret not getting both. Heck, I really want that 5130R!

Quite honestly, any picture you take makes the watch look fabulous!

 By: BuffaloWatch : May 13th, 2024-16:33
So I admit the merits of the G here

Agreed!

 By: patrick_y : May 14th, 2024-02:06
The G is also very flexible on strap colors. Wheres the P is less so due to the dial color.

Great lugs too, on this example.
