perhaps the most unusual feature

is the use of YG rivets in the greyish brushed WG case and crown. The part of the dial face with the numerals and indices is of a lighter hue than most red or rosè gold that have a higher copper content (here R2 or R3?) that could easily be mistaken for unreflecting brass, as in some ship chronometers, where you don't want to be distracted or blinded by the sun (in those days they didn't have anti-reflective coating). The VH and Vianney Halter logos are brightly polished and have a deeper red. They are set over a background of grain-finished WG.
About half an hour after sunset under an overcast northern sky, the case can actually take on the look of bronze, producing very steam-punk contours. I also really appreciate the color of "brass". The colored gold comes out stronger at sunset or in the evening, under candles or dim incandescent lumination.
Sorry, my friend, but there is no way that I could ever photograph this particular Classic! It always changes with the angle and lighting conditions or takes on a different character according to the situation.
One thing for sure, there is no way that I will ever grow tired of it or not succumb to its magnificence and mystery - which is why I chose this combination.
I recently posted that the customer should have no influence upon the watch-making artist - except when he generously offers a choice!
Here there was a choice even in the selection of the metal for the rivets.
Cheers,
