About the seconds at 9 o'clock....

Mar 23, 2015,13:13 PM

It is an unusual choice for Vacheron Constantin in a simple watch (though most traditional chronograph desings have the small seconds at 9), but it is a look that I am used to in a simple watch by way of the Panerai aesthetic, which I like.

As for the World Time, it would be a great way to get your first RG piece and a new complication into the collection. And as for the economics and timing of the World Time, that's between you and the seller, though it sounds like the IRS, and quite possibly the angel sitting on your shoulder, known to most of us as a wife, are slowing down the decision making process, which the devil on your other shoulder is working hard to counterbalance. smile

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : March 22nd, 2015-01:42
Both are rare and elegant pieces ! Actually I love the Traditionelle so much I don\'t mind having the platinum version too even though that means I have 2 watches with the same movement (something I generally avoid). This may be the exception for me Your ...

OK - I could not leave that sad unfocused picture to define this lovely timepiece

 By: jtodd : March 23rd, 2015-11:03
So let me offer a more traditional, but better focused picture... and a more interesting look at it as well. Laid bare for all to see. ...

Nice pics of the PT Traditionelle !

 By: patrickh : March 22nd, 2015-03:29

Not seen this reference in the metal before

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : March 22nd, 2015-04:59
Thanks for your pics Patrickh! Looks great. a very simple and elegant dial with nice movement engraving Cheers Robin

Simple with diamond "baguette" for indexes ;-))

 By: patrickh : March 22nd, 2015-05:12
Simply elegant and very discreet. Only owner could see them more distinctly. And the engraved rotor is one of the best done by VC, IMHO. I wish you to see it in the metal (Pt of course) Robin, Patrickh

Thanks for the info!

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : March 24th, 2015-19:33

Thanks

 By: 2muchtimeonmyhands : March 23rd, 2015-23:42
Thanks, although the choice of clothes were purely practical as I was stuck in NY during the recent snow without a proper coat and needed as many layers on as possible :) I just realised I posted my first reply in the wrong place as well

a beautiful Traditionelle worldtime!

Looks great. It took me a while to get used to the small seconds at 9 o'clock, but I like it. I am slowly warming to rose Gold pieces. Really want that world timer that Joseph posted above and yes, I know someone who has one. However, tax time is not a gr...

It is whichever side the devil sits on... However, my wife is quite persuasive - much more so than the IRS, actually. Anyway, a great addition to the thread. Thanks for sharing.

Good to see the 87172 auto in the mix :)

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : March 23rd, 2015-23:33
Nice addition to our list here Bill! I considered this but chose the manual version as I preferred the sub seconds dial at 6 o'clock. But this one is a beauty too. The date window balances the seconds dial at 9 o'clock pretty well Cheers robin

Nice pic!
