I get your Point Nicolas

On one side, it's a bit annoying because of the history of the brand linked to these romantic smooth shape, tear drops, claw lugs... I could go for many references there. Especially that at the moment not a lot of brand offers these kind of curvy romantic shapes.

on the other side, in VC history there are also a lot of straight shapes (chronomètre royal 1st and second generation, the first ultra thin and so many others) and more important there has to be a coherence in the offering. I suppose this is the style and taste of the artistic director.

There are people behind a name and you have to get from them what they can do best. And personnaly when I see the Patrimony traditionnelle for example complex shape with all its details I think they have done a pretty good job although not "curvy romantic".

Things are evolving in companies and sometimes you are struck by some pieces and want that they go on because they are so good.
But honestly whatever VC will offer in the future I don't see you desiring another watch as much as the platinum ultra thin minute repeater with tear drop lugs, it will certainly remain your grail watch forever. And ... you are not alone ^^

cheers

François

I'm not a specialist of VC but don't seem to remember this shape that will be unveiled on Monday... A new "Historic" model ? Wait and see. Cheers, Mark...

A bit abrupt for a Vacheron, don't you think?

Where is the sensuality we so much love in Vacheron watches? Best, Nicolas

The bezel is certainly so,

but we know that VC has, in its collection, several watches which is "original" as the Toledo 1951, the Aronde 1954, maybe the Quai de l'Ile too... So, yes I prefer the Patrimony line, the fantastic 1955 Ultra-Fine, but even the Malte chrono QP with its s...

We'll soon see. I agree with you on the Les Historiques Case.

Much better than the current Patrimony, at least from my point of view and taste. Best, Nicolas

You know me quite well, my friend. Quite well.

But I have more problems with the proportions of the current Vacherons. Very big, thick.... I loved the Malte Series a lot, too, such as the Chronograph and the Chroongraph QP. While their " Patrimony " brothers are less appealing to me. Best, Nicolas

On the complication, I cannot agree more

I recall wears ago talking with VC in Munich especially on that topic, and explaining why the older ultra thin minute repeater perpetual is a master piece because of the work on the case, bezel and caseback to have the visual effect of an ultra thin watch...

I am slightly surprised

Not by the image but by the amount of discussion and analysis this teaser image has generated. LOL. respo

All in Harmony at Vacheron, believe me :-)

Even if there are very different styles of watches, some classic and elegant and some more... "original", it is quite coherent when considering the whole collection. There are watches I can see from VC that I won't like to see in other traditional brands....
