be educated. I feel badly for those that don't know the resource that long-standing forums provide to assist with researching the vintage market. V&C seems overly susceptible to fakers and fraudsters, in no small part to a lack of published material.

I appreciate your sentiments but not everyone, myself included, has access to other sources than the internet for vintage collecting. I've never intended these Alerts to scare people away from internet-based deals, only to warn of the fakes and frankens. ... 

They have all been advertised as new models that have never been worn being sold by unauthorized dealers, i.e. grey market. Before I formed a relationship with our VC moderator I had no other avenue to purchase watches without traveling to bigger cities. ...
