Dating by serial number is not an exact science...

To get a precise year for your watch would mean you would have to write to Vacheron Constantin, and give them the same information you posted here. Looking at past auction catalogs, however, and I could guess with great confidence that your watch comes from 1967-1969.

Hi I have just bought a vintage Vacheron Constantin, model 7397, movement 1072/1. Movement number 598659 case number 443372. Seller is estimating the watch is from around 1960. Is it possible form the numbers to date this watch more accurate than around19...
